We can't grow spinach here as the soil is so sandy they go to seed. But, beetroot does well and I recommend fresh boiled beetroot to anyone. I spent most of my adult life avoiding it because of memories from school.

Then my wife introduced me to fresh beetroot and it is...very good!

Grab a packet if you can.

Spinach is great too if you have suitable soil. We tend to grow spinach beet or chard on our quick draining soil.
