Hi everyone,
I'm new here so wanted to stop in and say hi.

My names Paul, I'm a Derby lad (who happens to live in Switzerland).

I've been a bee keeper for just over three years now and have Carnolians in Dadant DB hives.

My hives are kept in a nature reserve and aside from the really bad winter we've just had the only threats that I normally experience are varroa and wild boar.

Anyway, that's me - Hi!
Paul.

Welcome Paul.
will be interesting to get a Swiss perspective on here.

All those alpine meadows - I suppose you get edelweiss honey?

Hi Paul33,
You`ll be ok if varroa are allergic to the Higgs particle.

Darren.

Hi,
Nope - no edelweis honey, it's really rare here and usually at a high altitude and places where you have to drive a fair distance to (on crappy mountain roads).

My normal food source is rape seed oil, clover, sunflower and 'forest'.

Higs particles or black holes :)

Paul.

Hi Paul
Welcome to the forum, it will be good to hear whats happening elsewhere, we have reports from France, Finland, Cyprus to name but a few, stick a pin in Switzerland Admin.

Welcome Paul,

With or without your Higgs bosons, they're obviously not particles.
Damn, did I say that out loud!

Hello Paul, lots of wild boar around me too here in southern Spain but they have never disturbed my hives. Varroa I ignore!
