easipet hive
This firm is fine.
Bought a hive off them and it's OK. Only thing, as one poster pointed out, is that there is no mesh floor and they don't supply nails - apart from that fine.
Hi Ivor,
I bought one too, and got the varroa mesh myself.
You don't need nails if you use a proper glue - I use the Evostick waterproof.
Its expensive, but gives a good bond in about 15 mins if you clamp the joint.
And if you leave it 24 hours, it's like you've turned two pieces into one.
Very strong.
I don't think it's fair to comment on the hive, until I've gone through the whole process and finally have it built.
As I've said earlier in this thread; I judge a supplier/service by how they behave when things go wrong. A good reputation is valuable and hard to come by, so a good firm will protect that, and prides itself on good customer service. A bad firm doesn't care, but often that only shows up when things go wrong, and then the bad reviews start appearing to warn the rest of us.
So if you got one that was fine, that's great.
Some joiner you'll never meet - who works for very little on the far side of the world - was doing his job.
Whoever was making mine was clearly having a very bad day.
Hey, that's bound to happen occasionally, and in any business sometimes things don't run smoothly. People can make mistakes, be off sick, all sorts of stuff that has nothing to do with the manufacturing process itself.
But in the end, that's no problem for a decent firm who care about their customers.
I'll be able to take a view in about a week
