as long as you have big enough elbows to keep the others away from it lol

as long as you have big enough elbows to keep the others away from it lol

you need three people ,one to guard your trolley, one to clear the way and yourself to fight for the flat packs

if you dont have a guard, someone will pinch your spoil,
if your dont have a clearer, you will never even see those imaginary things like 14x12s broods

as yourself, well it is better to be trained in kung fu and be a front row rugby playeryou need all those skills

Silly question coming...what on earth is a bee-keepers perch...my balance isn't good if it is anything like a budgies!! Also, as their online sale is last...is there ever anything left?? Not that I need anything having gone mad at Maisemoors...at all...well...maybe...

beekeeper perch, comes up every sale, :D, it is a short walking stick thst converts to a seat

maisemore, i find their clearance item better than thornes myself, it is Canadian cedar rather than their first quality English Cedar The canadain is darker than the proper English cedar like hive maker and tom bick use but unlike thornes second maisemore clearance aren't full of live Knot and even Thorns fist quality looks quite dark:smilielol5:

just out of curiosity if you were to buy 50 frames from them in this sale, on average how many good frames would this make up? or would there be defects on all the frames.

On past experience, losses have run around the 2% mark.

Cannot comment on future seconds as they may not be as good as in tha past, or may be better. Some defects are cosmetic or aethsetic rather than purely functional. I don't really bother about reasonable live knots in parts, and some dead knots in the frame sides and a few minor splits in frame sides. Frames should still be fit for purpose to be called seconds. Unfit for purpose means scrap.

I did have a couple frame parts this last year that were not really seconds but unfit for purpose, in my view (dead knots almost completely through the part).

I always stress the lugs before assembly as I use 14 x 12s and it is really a bit awkward if the lugs break off easily in use (due usually to cross graining) as they are much heavier than standard frames!

Regards, RAB

Is the Thornes stall at the Nat Honey show the same set up as at Stoneleigh? Are there bargains to be had?

Commercial advertising is not allowed by the company concerned.

Someone saying "abc have a sale on" is fine.

I thought advertising - even 2nd hand was disallowed on this site?? .

Im not advertiseing for thornes , im passing information on for other beeks who may not have the stated information, ive got no interest in increasing thornes business emprie.
But ive got loads of interest in give beek more products for their cash.:auto:
