You have the right not to incriminate yourself. i.e. Go "No comment" Just like they claim the 5th amendment in the U.S.

LMAO.

Perhaps you didn't see (or care?) that their previous survey was, in fact, a BIBBA survey?
The great strength of the NBU/APHA was their impartiality. They threw that away by acting as the mouthpiece for BIBBA.

I could be wrong but you sound remarkably like Alasdair C from the BBKA FB group

Or sounds like someone who believes the words of politicians.. from "Peace in our Time" Chamberlain, through "The pound in your pocket has not been devalued" Wilson to "I did not read that memo" Rudd.

… get a grip guys. It’s just a hobby. And don’t be afraid of a contrarian.

If you either think there are evil powers at play, then you’re clearly not going to fill-in these surveys. Good for you.

For the record, John:
- I am not a member of (or otherwise affiliated to) the BBKA
- I do not use Facebook
- I am not called Alasdair

… I’m just a regular guy, whose own views may not align with some of the louder voices on this forum. Peace out.

Was it sent out selectively in the first place as I have not been sent one.

PH
Yes it was - a random selection

No. I don't think so.

Yes it was:
You have been chosen at random to complete the husbandry survey this year.

In 2017 we obtained valuable information about beekeeping practices from 1054 beekeepers from counties across England and Wales.
* In total 85% of beekeepers that responded were members of a Beekeeping Association and 37% of beekeepers that responded had at least one formal beekeeping qualification.
* Overall, the total winter colony losses from 2016-2017 were calculated as 12.9%.

If you're going to quote me, quote me properly and don't try to censor what I said:

No. I don't think so.
When I said it might be self-selective, I meant that the questions were phrased in such a way that they favoured Amm and BIBBA. I believe that people who hold similar views would be encouraged to respond, while those who held different views would be discouraged. By soliciting views that claim to represent (all) beekeepers, I believe that survey was flawed and biased.

That is the full quote of what you said in that post, I chose to edit out your anti BIBBA diatribe which was no more than background noise.
I did not get further to your subsequent posts.
Grow up.

Do you deny that it was a BIBBA survey?

The great strength of the NBU/APHA IS their impartiality...
I would imagine that it would be easier to get a Vogon to buy you dinner and not then stick his fingers down your throat to eat yours too..... to paraphrase Ford Prefect!

Fact is that APHA are concerned about the overwhelming numbers of exotic bees being imported legally and illegally into the UK to suit the whims and profits of a few despicable beekeepers. Makes the puppy trade seem half decent!

BIBBA had nothing to do with it.... however another survey about Red and Grey squirrels is going to be sent out... heavily influenced by the Tufty Club!:icon_204-2:

I agree: anyone who keeps New Zealand queens is despicable.

Is the latest from France the news that they've managed to import SHB from a country that doesn't have SHB?
