yup, most of the flow forum have, the flow team are working on getting them removed, but I won't hold my breath, didn't one of the big car giants have the same problem a little while back, tried getting them to stop producing a car that was a copy of their own, and lost

Fighting a losing battle generally ... Chinese fakes are about from just about anything from Perfume to JCB tools with just about everything in between - very difficult in some circumstances to even tell the difference. I suspect much of the 'fakes' actually come out of the same factories and even off the same production lines as the originals ...

Containers full of the stuff are found at our ports every week by Customs but how many get through ?

Shirley.. a fake is only no good if it don't work or breaks due to being sub standard.

that is in fact true, (finishing is done somewhere else though e.g. the branding, boxing, printing etc!) having been on many IT business trips to the Guangdong Province, this province, is specially setup for huge manufacturing, and at the regular trade shows, you can walk in with a widget, and they will reverse engineer, give you all the schematics, firmware, board layouts, ask you how many you want, and your container of widgets will be on the Southampton docks, in 15 weeks (5-6 weeks for delivery by boat!).

It is hard to believe that there is enough money in it to justify the investment.....did they not read the poor reception that the Flow Hive got from beekeepers across the world?

I think lots of people will buy them. Look at the advance orders! Whether they make them work or not is another matter. Commercial guys in Oz are interested in them. Think how much they would save at Chinese prices.

I would be concerned at the sub~lethal dose of toxins leaching out from some plastics... particularly with FAKE far eastern manufactured ones as the plastics could possibly not be food safe.

As it is some Chinese plastics are contaminated with the antibiotic substance chloramphenicol..........................

( personally divulged information from a Chemistry Professor, not peer reviewed as yet!)

If it is any use, the Chinese will steal the idea as copyright and patent means nothing to them, you'll be able to buy the frames on alibaba.com for $1 each. They have probably seen the interest generated and are working on their own design already.
