Walk down to the beach today and found that we suddenly have lost between 3-5 meters of sand dunes and the path down the dunes is now a two metre sheer drop to the new beach level.View attachment 41987

Blimey! In your first pic how far from the cliff edge are the buildings? Coastal erosion is a big problem on the Norfolk coast and Suffolk coast not far from here - Dunwich was once a large port rivalling London and is now a hamlet. It amuses me that we still have a Bishop of Dunwich!

amongst the items there were huge portable uninteruptable power supplies. They never drew much interest even though they were serious kit
we regularly had our on board UPS's serviced during our annual slipping and mainitenance month, one year, they left all the batteries on the quayside and told us to help ourselves, again, if only......

Dunwich. As a nipper I was told that at low tide, with the wind from the East, you can still hear the church bells ringing?

I suppose Covehithe church must be at risk by now? My grandparents lived in the village at one time.
I visited Benacre some years back, where the river Hundred meets the coast. There was once a number of lagoons there and we would fish the river just upstream of the pump house. I found the pump house still there, barricaded behind stone blocks, but beyond it was only a fairly narrow shingle beach with the lagoons long since gone. 😥

As it happens this section of the coastline is backed by fields so the nearest building at all is probably around a kilometre from the shoreline. Where I live is around 20 - 23 metres above sea level and again around one kilometre from the sea. I'm very familiar with the Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex coastlines, I lived for many years south of Ipswich and some more years near Sandringham. North Norfolk coastal villages were a favourite day out.:)
