Yes, good old Mr Wang. He's an example to us all. - But I don't know what of.
There must be plenty of non-PC fun to be had with his name etc. though.. ;)

:eek:dont think I could do it, I always admire people who do this ... the weight of the bees must be something else ,or is it easy because of distribution, love his nose plugs!

On his stunning victory in this years bee wearing competition.

Something for the BBKA to consider perhaps at their next convention.

Bobster

Are you being sarcastic?

Surely, anyone who engages in the pulling of such a purile stunt is a cretin?

Using live creatures in this way in the UK should, I hope, attract people's consternation. But the Chinese are backward when it comes to animal welfare.

I agree about the Chinese but I think Bobster's tongue was firmly planted in cheek........

The chinese are pretty backward when it comes to human welfare too.

Seem to recall there are "bee beard" competitions in the States.

Not on my 1946 edition.

I have only ever seen old-ish pictures of bee wearing activities and hadn't really considered any cruelty involved. What cruelty/distress arises from these activities? Anything more than the distress and cruelty they have to endure from us beeks?

Always suspected that a bath in lemon-grass oil would have interesting consequences!

Hi Viridens, - My Snelgrove is a thirteenth edition March 1981!!

Hi Viridens, - My Snelgrove is a thirteenth edition March 1981!!

'nuff said! My old bee guru, now 96, actually knew and visited Mr Snelgrove.

I understand how they get the bees to stay on (with pheromones I presume.)

The question is how do they get them off at the end of the competition?
