Thanks for the replies about the telescopic roof. Yes, 'deep roof' sounds best.

And yes - a glitch in the quotes. Perhaps I should blame my phone - but I can't see that it caused it.

It's what we call a roof ... presumably because it covers the hive and the sides of the roof 'telescope' down over the crownboard.

I think it's a US term.

Unless there are a lot of other different roof designs used in the UK I think the 'telescope' is redundant here.

Apparently Abelo aren't telescopic!

The Abelo nucs don't have telescopic roofs so frames cant stick to roof.

I think I'd describe their National poly roofs as semi telescopic, they are quite deep and unlikely to blow off.
