I have 20 hives this year and of this point in time only 6 of them have attempted to swarm this year. There has been a constant nectar flow this year, starting with the winter OSR, Beans, Lime now onto the Brambles. With no break in-between, has this been stopped the bees from Swarming?

Looks like my bees are on the brambles now. This is my main crop of the year. 60 Supers ready to go on.

Looked in some of my hives yesterday to find the supers full again, so I went for a drive around the area to see what they might have been foraging on. Only to find a field of OSR in full bloom 3/4 of a mile from house. I guess I had better extract the 6 newly filled supers. It seams like the...

It took them 2 days to fill a full super, I have a strong hive sitting on OSR, second super now on. Happy days!

Yesterday it was 30c, today looks to top that it may get as high as 32c here today. I tried to examine 5 hives yesterday, by the time i had opened up the thrid one my bee suit was dripping with sweat, my head felt as if it was about to boil and i had to give up. In not even going to bother...

I have just had a conversation with a beekeeper who tells me that feeding beet Sugar (Silver Spoon) to my bees may not be so good for them and may cause dysentery. He suggests I only feed my bees with cane sugar. Anyone got any information on this?
