i have had a good look at there site no mention
so what you point to a thread on this forum the information needs to be on there site not on here
and i dont mean hidden on some other page it should be on the web page for that item
when you buy a shirt from marks and sparks web site
you dont go and have a look in the news of the world to check there stock levels do you?

How long will it take to manufacture 000's of nucs once the mold/mould arrives

Don't know about a thick walled product like these in polystyrene, but your average 10l honey bucket probably took 7 or 8 seconds, maybe a bit less.

Regards, RAB

Is the paynes nuc the same product ? No mention of the weald place nucs having a screened floor or the paynes one having a travelling screen.
From first impressions of the web sites I'd rather do business with paynes.
Its about time someone came up with a national poly nuc but I think I'll wait for some braver ( or richer ) soul's to buy and report back before I invest in either nuc. Personally I'd also prefer a removable frame feeder as it could be removed for repair or replacement, or moved along and used as a dummy board.

Sorry PH , just read your similar comment on the other poly nuc thread - I didnt mean to plagiarise , honest!

When moulding any Expanded Polystyrene Product, it has to cool in the mould. For something of this size and more importantly the density, the cycle time per pressing could be up to 10 minutes.

I think one of the main factors is that it is very insulating and therefore looses heat very slowly in the moulding process.

Lighter 20kg/M3 as used frequently in packaging would have a cycle time of around 20-30 seconds by comparison.

so working on an 8 hour day 5 days aweek give or take a few mins here and there
20 mins per hive max to make the 1000 they state are in stock 2 months to make

That's assuming the UK moulder likes the moulds from China.

I know a sub-con engineering co. that makes plastic moulding tools here in UK - last time I spoke they complained about how customers are demanding short lead times - just a few days.

20 mins? I said 10, all items will probably be in the one mould. Also, most of these factories run 24/7 on three shifts. especially this time of the year as the main customers are plant growers and require their parts by the million. One operator runs several machines at once due to the cooling cycles, so they can produce for a number of customers at the same time.

A very busy time of the year for EPS moulders,

The machines that make your honey buckets work 24/7, or as close to that a possible.

If this machine normally only works 8 hour days week-time, there may be some overtime payments required!

Polypropylene injection moulds for the bucket (above) would be water cooled, but who knows how they cope with this stuff. Time or a colder coolant?

Anyone know where this stuff is moulded?(A company name PP?) Plenty of places make the packaging stuff (and the insulation boards are made as blocks and cut with a hot wires), but these things seem much more specialised. The machine availability may even be 'well used up' by other products which may mean further delays.

As I would understand it, the issue would be thermal capacity (simply ~X5 of the 20kg per cubic metre stuff, rather than insulation properties. I would expect the thermal conductance to be higher than for the lower density stuff, but it typically has 20 mm of product to travel across....

Point noted that the Paynes' product appears to be a different grade of material?

Seems to be naff-all on the net, so any process details or net URLs would be appreciated

Busy time and little Joe calls up and says, "can you do me a run of 100 please."

Gruff voice. "Yers mate. Back of the queue."

sorry to disappoint you but you'll probably find that you are well outwith the time limit to claim a refund via Paypal now, let alone once any low quality goods actually arrive.

Through ebay for example you only have 45 days to claim via Paypal. presume it is similar for other purchases.

It is the same you only have 45 days to raise your concerns then 20 days after that to claim if it has not bean resolved but you still have you rights under distance selling. Regards Andrew

I buy mine from Swienty. Very dense. Very tough. Very reliable company

buy cheap and .............

PH

My experience with Swienty shows them to be very unreliable and they do not keep to their repeated promises. Hence they did not get our order.

I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience, however like you I post from my experience and they have been spot on with every transaction I have had with them. That would now be some 7 events, every one of which was text book.

On top of the order I was trying to place with Swienty, I asked them for a quote and delivery date on an extractor and home bottler. I did not hear back.

When firms behave in this fashion I am wary about passing over my money. It usually means there is a core problem.

Swienty's website and catalogue are poorly arranged making it difficult to discover exact prices and exactly what you get for your money.

Laughingly, Swienty want you to place an order and pay for P & P (in some cases not even knowing the price of the product) without knowing what they're going to charge you for P & P. Coming from such a great distance could cost dearly.

Think I'll stay local and British on this one, the UK needs our cash and you can visit them.

I find it very simple, I phone them, talk to Josephine, find out the price and postage, pay over the phone and four days later or so the kit arrives.

Simple.

Sorry you had a bad experience BBG, but I don't honestly think you can tar the whole company on the strength of it.

As one who suffers from very unfair reviews I know what damage one bad experience can create, whether justified or not.

This is what I shop for and I really don't understand your comments about pricing as to me it is pretty clear.

I look up the current euro rate and have a good idea what I will be paying depending on the freight which is UPS and so trackable.

You don't have to be sorry PH it's not your fault.

The company with whom I had a dismal experience is Swienty.

If they're 'tarred' as you say, then that is what Swienty wanted. If they didn't, they would have behaved in a business-like manner and responded to potential business queries via e-mail, telephone etc. in a professional manner.

I was preparing to fly out to meet with Swienty, such was my commitment - needless to say, I didn't due to their lack of response.

Ditto, poor response from the Polish firm who have gone bankrupt (easy to have been burned there! Research always pays off!)

UK businesses gave me good response and I spent money with them and will spend more.

I need an exact figure before parting with my money.

Buying on Swienty website still doesn't let you see what the P & P is before you pay for everything.

Here, they don't give prices at all

http://www.swienty.com/shop/default.asp?catid=1168

and it's been like that for months.

PS.

Reviews are good for customers to assess whether they're getting the same treatment as the reviewer. This helps customers decide if they want to spend money with that business and the business to see its public image.

I am not going to waste any more time on discussions about my poor experience with Swienty.
