How mouldy is too mouldy? I gather that the bees will clear out mouldy pollen etc. But is there a limit?
Dry mould on lighter comb will be cleared more enthusiastically than wet mould in old comb. Why is the comb mouldy? Damp resulting from a dead winter will likely stink and be wet from dead bees, so burn or bag & dispose in the waste.But is there a limit?
Be careful not to breath in the spores from the mould. You don't want to get AspergillosisThese were DN frames taken out last autumn as part of winter prep. They were in a freezer to kill wax moth but have since got quite mouldy in storage
