My GasVap has arrived but in Northern Ireland butane gas cylinders are not available. However, butane/propane cylinders are available. Has anyone used b/p cylinders without problems?
Glad to hear it.Yes, worked fine, may not need it turned as high.
What type of blowtorch are you using ? It's only really designed for the culinary type of torch - which are all butane fuelled . If you are using a bigger torch, such as plumbers use, you really do have to keep the heat down very low. Using the gasvap takes a bit of getting used to - adjusting the heat to the optimum levels on the torch you are using requires a bit of trial and error. Don't over do it ... it does not take a lot of heat to get the OA hot enough to sublimate. My GasVap has arrived but in Northern Ireland butane gas cylinders are not available. The Sistotec micro torches take Butane lighter fuel ... available just about everywhere .. including Northern Ireland.Thanks. I have a Sistec blowtorch, so it should be OK. Now all I need to do (?..) is order a universal adapter that will connect a butane/propane fill cylinder to the torch.
Hopefully the slightly ill fitting, off centre GasVap copper extension nozzle for a poly hive will not be a problem.
Yeeess lighter fuel. It’s Tesco for me tomorrow. Thanks.
