car key batteries

has anyone ever tried to change the battery in thier key flob, does it have to go back to the dealer or is it some thing I can do at home or will it require reprograming after wards

the car key is a volkswagon

Best done at a main dealership Pete, I believe that it may have to be reprogrammed. The last thing you want is to find that you are miles away and the dealership needs your key and your car to do the job.

Best to ring up and ask.

Check these out Pete. Apparently it seems that the programming isn't particularly volatile after all.

More robust than the Citroen keys probably!

I had my keys done at a local garage it cost loads,,,, £3.50 lol
