Firstly, does anybody know when is honey is classed as wholesale, and secondly, does it come under the same regulations as when it's sold as retail?

I had to laugh. Three hives and no bees and asking about bulk honey, no offence but hey...

Off the top of the head.

Bulk has to conform to the basics. If you offer it as English, or by shire it has to come from there. It may or may not be clean and that will be reflected in the price. The labeling and weight regs do not apply at this point.

Thanks for the the info, PH.

Perhaps I can correct you, as from today, it's three hives - one with bee's!

The second part of the question was mine, prompted by the first part, and that was asked by a non beek.

In the pub, we were trying to determine what is wholesale, and what is retail.

There is a company near here, that sells wine.

The owner needs no licence, because he sell's wholesale - and wholesale for him, is two bottles!
