What do Varroa feed on?

Bees? In two parts of the bee life cycle? What more do we need to know?

If you watch the video you will see what part of the Bee. As the video states now they believe to have found what part of the bee they eat, they can now look at ways to beat the mite.

I've been keeping bees for 4 years and in that time, everybody, it seems, referred to Varroa destructa as feeding on the hemolymph (bees' blood). Very recently, and this may be the work done by the guy, Samuel Ramsey, in the video, I've heard this idea that the mite feed on fat deposits of the honeybee.

He's saying it might be possible to seed these fat deposits with something that will harm the mite - maybe apibioxal! Go, Sam, Go! But don't sell the idea to Monsanto.

If you can't find it here's the link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq52ug3HTxY&feature=youtu.be
