Just had a listen to the sides of the hives and 8 mini nucs all are alive and making a nice humming sound, which is like buetifull music.IMG_0053.jpegIMG_0051.jpeg
The two paynes nucs at the end of the row are completely under snow except for an area at the back and front of the nucs

Dream on...... Wax moth have survived my solar wax melter and my freezer😃
I give a quick blast of a blowtorch to BBs not currently in use. Any gaps in the joints then get Brummer stopping. Seems to work for me. If I had more hives then that may not be as viable a proposition, I accept.
My neck of the woods still has bright sunshine in a cloudless blue sky, about 3 degrees and a good drying wind for the washing. No precipitation until noon forecast, predicted as sleety then rain - for a few hours. Sadly, unable to visit my ladies as I'm going out.

I really like that top photo, with the sun trying to pierce the gloom.
The merest sprinkle of snow here with a fairly sharp frost overnight. Now it’s bright sunshine.

Snowing down here this morning - the panic amongst the locals is evident - they are not used to seeing this white stuff ! The ground is too warm and it is not settling so not much of a problem..

I went around delivering "rent" yesterday afternoon. One of the landowners messaged me this morning saying that she'd had some with yoghurt last night and then forgotten to hide the jars. Her children found them this morning and had a load on their porridge for breakfast :D

Why in earth would somebody hide honey from their children?

Not the apiary as such but did a lovely Christmas Fair at the weekend and delivered a couple of boxes of mini jars to a local business for their Christmas hampers for customers. Thanks to @Newbeeneil for the great tip about filling using condiments containers, it was so quick!
