The AT's look very interesting.... is there a thread on these?

Added a frame of eggs and young larvae to my remaining hive hoping I'll find a nice Queen cell next week. The donor was kind enough to select a frame from his most productive hive.

Checked the swarm traps, but nothing yet. Season started late this year, so swarms are likely to be late too.

Second lot of Queen rearing underway.. 14 Nicot cups to starter ..First lot to mini nucs tomorrow..Starter hive 2x 5 frame jumbo nucs bursting with bees.

Went for a 5 mile walk today on the East Yorkshire Wolds, saw lots of Hawthorne and tons of gorse, a white and yellow country side. I saw just one bee despite looking throughout the walk, on a hot and very sunny day.

Today i moved a huge bird bath for a potential water source for the bees about 4m from the hive. No idea if its a good idea or not. But after the weight of it i hope it doesn't need moved again.

Lime should start in about 5 days..
I've been demoralised and not surprised that beeks can receive only 1,8 to 3,3 euros per kg of honey ( spring and black locust) at large and payment period..... Seems barrels/drums will keep dust in a store.. Glad something is organized in this country.. if beeks aren't.. So many people left abroad ( complete families).. Why I also don't go.. must be masochist idiot..

Inspected 4 of my hives today and was aware that they may well be fiesty due to the thunder. The first three were the pussycats they always are but the forth :hairpull:
They were a swarm I picked up 19 days ago that has drawn a complete brood box, 8 frames of which is bias, the rest stores I have supered them but they were certainly not happy bunnies, stinging me twice on the hand and chasing me after I closed up.
I think these might be candidates for a slightly less prolific, calmer queen if I can find the incumbent!
Off to find the Piriton..........:leaving:

The prices you quote are always awful, Goran. On a better note, your bees always look healthy and happy.

It's a lovely country, well, for a holiday anyway.
The grass always seems greener on the other side of the fence.
I could sell so much honey at our prices if only I had it. I sell out in three weeks when it goes on sale!

You could buy lots of Goran's and have stocks for the whole year?
Just a thought.

At least we have a lot of soul food if not money.. Again I have to change a lot of queens, couple bright ones but followed with mean bunch.. But that is beekeeping. This season swarming was huge issue, which I predicted will be.. but my hands were tied by time and money..
At least I got decent amount of honey.. I need a money, but I won't give it for nickles. If I do, my beekeeping is pointless, I feel it as slave/master relationship.. My spite woke up in such situation. I plan to decrease my beekeeping at large, to completely enjoy and make it as some minor hobby.. Let other ruin their spine for masters..

For holidays, it is definitely great here from coast to inland.
I live in province, so it is more harder to sell a lot on doorstep, and due to low salaries a lot never buy it.. Also at my place isn't widely used as in nearby Bosnia. Mostly is sold in winter when people get flu, or to make Christmas cakes..

A lot of miles between. Who said the world is small :)

There are lots of international courier firms that could make it worthwhile for Enrico to turn a small profit.....and have honey available to sell 24/7/365.
