Whats F2's please?

They are downstream generations of queens from an original starting point at F0.
I start with isolated mated Buckfast queens which I call F0's (F zero's). Others may call them other names.
The first (1st) generation of queens I breed from these F0's I call F1's. These are superb queens retaining most of the characteristics of their mother.
If I breed further queens from these F1 queens then these are called F2's.
Now it will vary according to where you live, but where I reside the F2 generation has a very good chance of being nasty so I don't like to breed further than F1's ....but mistakes get made and if the F2's are feisty then I do not wish to breed further downstream from them.
Hope that helps and makes it clear.

Rainy today, so I spent the day cutting old comb from brood frames that I have swapped for new foundation this year. Kept a couple of the lower bars to put in poly nuc feeders as 'rafts', binned the frames - most of them were not Hoffman type, with spacers, which I hate.

I wonder how many fs there are in ( f0 ) Buckie’s ? [emoji6]

Chose your Buckfast breeder with care...then there are no more F's...it's why it's called F0 :)

I fully understand the f system . Buckie’s are hybrids from more than a couple of types [emoji6]
Latent information from any of its lineage can pop up at any time .

When mated in the UK, where the predominate drones are from local mongrels they rapidly revert to local phenotype as the mongrel genes begin to dominate.
F2's bees have approx 75% of their genome now derived from local background mongrels.

To qualify for F0 status the queen must be pure bred ?
Buckfasts are hybrids !
There are differing lines around, claiming to be pure bred .

Which is why I said "I call them F0's It helps explaining what subsequent generations are.
As for qualifying for F0 status there is not a honey bee in the uk that is 100% of one strain.

True , you qualify my case !

Whats more important?

Qualifying your case, or providing a satisfactory explanation of what an F2 is in general beekeeping terms for Angry Mob?

AMM F0
Carniolan F0
AMM x Carniolan F1 .
F1 x A,N, Other F2 .
Simple?
Buckfast isn’t a sub species .
This argument has been raging since Brother Adams quest to breed the perfect bee !

Explanations that easily explain what a Buckfast F2 generation is to someone don't deserve this degree of pedantry. I think you seem to be excessively concerned with formalism, accuracy and precision here...and this is only going to serve to confuse rather than elucidate.

And I think you are playing with words in the hope that flannel supersedes facts.
I’m no pedant .
Nothing pedantic about stating fact .
Minutiae is the Hall mark of the Pedant .
I’m arguing a point fact , not attacking you nor your beliefs , coloured as they maybe by your love of Buckfast bees .
I am prepared to leave it there .
Pax brother .

Brilliant Steve, we shall use Darlings, feisty darlings and babies to describe the downstream Buckfast lineages. Tosh to the in-exactitude of F1's F2's and pedants of their incorrect, though explanatory usage.
Etton...if you are still bothering to read this.... by F2 I meant Darlings. Although my case these would be classed as feisty darlings.
Hope it helps...

I was just saying it as it is and my use of the English Vocabulary is slightly less than your's and most, just trying to help , if i failed then so be it..

After black locust bees these days are after trees of heaven, staghorn sumac, bramble, honeydew.. Lime not started yet. In the air late in the day I can smell seducing scent - smells as honey, not sure is it from trees of heaven or.. But I enjoy it when walking around. Bees calm, which won't last when lime start - then are usually very nervous..
Honeydew is interrupted in last days due to showers.. The rain we need as gold someone..
