What did you do in the Apiary today?

I had a colony that came from a shaded, damp location. It had chalk brood.
I moved it to an open, sunny location. it still had chalk brood.
I had an apiary that was in a damp shaded area near a stream and there was no problem with chalk brood.
That's what I've found.
As for the silly, racist comments?

how do you know the change of external conditions changed the internal conditions sufficiently? . And is this anecdote statistically significant?

hmmm, actually it isn't racist as Welsh and English (and for that matter scottish) are all Caucasian. We are all predominantly of the same race, the word you are possibly looking for is bigoted although you do have options...

time to leave it there perhaps?

Don't talk such absolute rubbish - or are you saying you know better than the supreme court?

I wasn’t picking a fight and it was meant to be light hearted but as you jumped on my comment.....

Race in this sense is a flimsy human construct with no clear and absolute definition. In its common current usage is extremely divisive as we see here. I would still argue “welsh” is not a race. Celtic is but then that makes you and Hopit and a fair few French, Irish and Scottish folk close bed fellows so “Welsh” won’t swing it for me.

Nationalist? Perhaps but it’s all getting a bit too Farage and Tabloid News.

So, as I said at the end of my last comment, which was the take home message you disregarded, it really is time to move back to what is happening in the apiary.

When you bring nationality into a stupid remark it is racist, whether you like it or not.
You obviously think it's fine.

Yawn. Fair enough, on reflection you and your mate are more like Statler and Waldorf - arrogant bullies that are ultimately toothless Muppets.

I think Bigot is the word you're struggling to find.

Statler and Waldorf -

My favorite members of the Muppet cast ( or is it Caste!!!)

:winner1st::winner1st::winner1st::winner1st::winner1st:

5 nucs of Amm splits made up on the last full moon of April* with sealed queen cells have a nice patch of eggs and larvae....

*Sirius must have been rising!!!

No need for that at all, Steve is quite the opposite and could not be more helpful to folk, Jenky can be a bit blunt at times but he still gets my respect.

Very disappointed that you consider me a bully, maybe you could point out one of my bullying replies?
The evidence is there for anyone to see I'm afraid, you are the one who was doing the name calling and unfortunately, you still are.

To get back on topic.....checked a Snelgrove II swarm control. And blow me down they are tearing the queen cells down in the top box just as he describes; and the response in the queenless bottom box is like supercedure with only a few queen cells being drawn, fortunately a few from the frame of eggs I gave them from the queen I want to re-queen them to (they are currently F2's and a bit feisty....not garden bees).
Very clever man that Snelgrove. Despite having the wrong theorem on swarming he got the nuts and bolts just about spot on.

Glad you admit to it - first step in you rejoining the human race.

You have completely lost me.

I think I will back away quietly with my hands raised in defeat. It appears to me that there is no way to communicate with those that cannot follow a thread.

I have made no insults and called no names here. I merely pointed out some of the differences between racism, nationalism and bigotry.

You are attacking the wrong guy.

I wish you the best of luck.

I didn't do anything in the apiary today, as it took too long to read this load of guff. I'm quite new to the forum and have been struck by the bad feeling often expressed. Shame we can't just focus on beekeeping and learn from one another.

I don't get it either. Not sure why I got attacked and called a bigot. Think I will do a Pargyle and disappear for a while now. As you say, "load of guff" couldn't agree more.

Think I will stop posting and return to PM's where I feel there is valid advice/comment to offer.

Social media and forums bring out the absolute worst in people.

I am off to wander to the apiary and talk to my bees.
