If you think it is then can you explain why please.

Bargains?

Talks?

Meeting others?

Handy?

Or too far away?

Personally I have been three times, and only because for me it became "local" which is to say an hour away.

PH

aye, likewise. I went this year as it was within an hours drive. Not next year, its too far now. I will do my bargin hunting over the internet and get my talks at my local BKA

Too far for me too, just for the day. It's a shame because I quite fancied going.

I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.666987,-3.017392

the local BKA normally go as a loose group, mainly to show the beginners, get them to try and buy bee suits

this year it will be two or three hours added to the total journey time depending how conjested the M6 is at spagetti junction , i think i will give it a miss this year

Another 9 miles b an increase in approx 30mins according to googlemaps for me.
I went this year for the 1st time and had planned to go again next year, time / work allowing.

Just not sure if I will bother.

Personally I went for a look around and experience and for some equipment.

Very handy.
All the major suppliers under one roof. It's not so much for bargains but getting all I need in one go and picking up a few ideas along the way.
It's still within painless travel distance for me, but any further away would start to lose it's appeal.

Never been, so it holds some interest for me. But I doubt it would replace my week in Frinton.

I've not been yet, but do want to one day...proabably just once to see what goes on. I do think it's far too far for lots of people to travel too, and these sort of things ought to be in different venues around the country, as should the National Honey Show, which I am sure I'll never get to...far to far away.

Had a (very) brief look this year - interesting to see all the suppliers under one roof, but if I want bruised kneecaps while looking out for a bargain, Rand is a lot closer

Never been before so looking forward to it. I like these kind of shows regardless of what the interest/hobby/product. It gives everyone chance to see whats on the market and talk to people hopefully in the know. Although I must ask, does anyone else think that the show day deals are a thing of the past? Some shows that I have been to this year the goods have been more expensive than the shops/internet

Its only forty minutes up the road from my place so it's not to bad for travelling.

I hear what everyone is saying about the location and it would be good if the venue changed location every year but I guess its all done to the money side of things.

It is centrally located for most of the UK and it makes a change from keeping having to travel down south for everything. Not that there is anything wrong down there, it just makes a change.

Still to far for me to travel. That said I am going to the national honey this year but only because their is a couple of lectures I would like to attend.

Anywhere is far away from Cornwall...... living here is fantastic but the burden thrust upon us by an unsympathetic government actively racking up the cost of water from greedy SW Water and promoting massively overtaxed fuel prices make it unrealistic to attempt to escape.

At least we have Broadband!

Anyone keeping bees on the Scillies?

If they are PM me - I'm down that way in a few weeks and would love to see local setup if time permits

Was out there working a few weeks ago and yes there bee keepers on most islands. Like most Scilonians they are a little retisant about letting you into their kingdom and see most of the mainlanders as a holiday makers ie a bloody nuisance and just there to fill Charlies pockets!
Cheers

Sorry Poly went off subject.
As with Icanhopit too far for me and with little time to spare cannot justify the time and expense involved with getting there.

Probably not too far from for the organisers.

Well the national honey show is in the south so what's wrong with having the other main event of the year further north?

It hasn't moved that far. Stoneleigh as a venue is just not big enough. Many of the popular lectures are overfilled and the trade stands are scattered.

I'll be going to both.

BTW, according to my map Cornwall is in England - or is that a subject for another thread.
