Well the national honey show is in the south so what's wrong with having the other main event of the year further north?

I guess it's that the two events are completely unrelated. The organising committees have overlap, but fundamentally the National Honey Show grew out of the Surrey and Kent divisions and has always remained London based ever since. Stoneleigh is a BBKA event and although it might be south to you, if you look at the "center" of the county by population density, it's about equally placed for London, Bristol, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds etc. So on average, most of the population have to travel about the same distance, regardless of whether you are north or south so it's a resonable compromise.
I'm not involved in either event so have no axe to grind!
