Very disappointing ... but par for the course BBKA who seem to be determined to sit on the fence at best and fall off on the side of the agrochemical industry at worst ....
"the enforcement division of the VMD (Veterinary Medicines Directorate) has made it clear that this approved oxalic acid (Apibioxal) is the only one to be sold by suppliers and used by beekeepers in the treatment of varroa,.. Beekeepers should not try to get round the new situation: the VMD really does know what a true hive cleanser is and we should show other manufacturers ,,, we are prepared to repay them for their investment, provided their pricing is sensible."
Tim Lovett,Director of Public Affairs. BBKA magazine May 2016. Bee Medicines.
Worth reading the entire article.. Items in brackets are inserted by me for clarity..
Brings back memories of one of the reasons I started this forum.
I have enough Oxalic to see me out. As far as noting batch numbers ......I don't treat.
It's amazing how very few mites I have.
Non treating seems to be the way to go.
