ok folks

whats a URL ?

shonto

Its that bit up the top (or in your link) which you might call address or webpage.
Basically where (on 't interweb) the picture (or text etc) is stored

Here we go

These are my (nasty) UK ones this evening - luckily still warm enough to do a proper inspection whilst topping up feeder and moving frames to recenter brood. They were very placid (for a change) - a pillow case over both brood and super during procedure certainly helped as does decent lavender smoke- however bet that'll be different for the poor s*d who has to top them up for me on saturday!!!! They are also now reorientated ready for final move onto their intended pallet stand (have been out of way forgotten and ignored for most of season as the new beeks this year are frightened of them!).

posting attachments

okay folks - after clicking on the paperclip icon you get the attachment window pop up.

top box is where you choose and upload files from YOUR computer.
middle box is where you choose and upload files from the internet (eg your photo album on a social networking/media sharing site or similar.
bottom box tells you what files you can upload and what sizes are allowed.

and remember the bigger the file the longer it takes to upload AND it isn't instantaneous. just wait til the UPLOADING message below the top 2 boxes changes to UPLOADED and your files appear below (and below your message to post).

Here's a couple of pics of an old WBC I was given. It came from a house that had been empty for 4 years after the old beekeeper had died.

A close up of some of the bees:

And a shot of the underside of one of the supers after clearing all the bees:

Suffice to say, I had to perform a Bailey comb exchange and treat for a very heavy varroa infestation. Very productive bees, but rather nasty temperament.

Wow - and I thought my WBCs were bad when I got them!!! Mind you aren't the combs wonderful?

I find that very interesting that they had not had any human intervention for 4 yrs ( I assume that is) and they are good honey producers and also have a heavy varroa count. It is nice to hear that bees can live with varroa and still be a productive colony.

A few years later i collected these,in fact i had placed an order for two hives in the am. as these turned up in the pm.

I had never kept bees at this point, hives not going to be ready for 10 days so improvised with a wooden wine case.

Hives arrived 10 days later.

And they left this in the wine box.
