The 'Print forms' button on the Apiaries page works well, even if there are two 'Queen spotted' tick boxes! The downloadable spreadsheet looks good as well, very useful for end of year figures. Looking forward to using it.

I should also mention that I've opened it up to public beta now, so anyone can sign up. Invite your friends! Users are temporarily restricted to six hives each at the moment (apart from the private beta testers, who get 24). I've also added a privacy policy, which should hopefully allay people's concerns about that.

It's still not quite ready yet, but it's getting there. Should be all good in time for spring though! Once again, do let me know of any bugs, ideas or comments, either here or on the support site.

Can you change 'Queen Spotted' to 'Queen Seen'? It could be inferred that this means queen marked.

Is it worth adding 'Larva seen' for those of us who are not able to see eggs everytime. Yes, yes, I should have gone to spec savers.....

Matt, I've just tried it on my Blackberry and it doesn't work.

all I get is a white screen with a blue banner across the top with Beetight written in it.

Unfortunately I've no way of testing it on a Blackberry, as I use Mac and Linux and the emulator only runs on Windows.

Not at the moment! We don't actually store the password, so it will have to be a one to reset it, but yeah, I'll get that in place.

I chose the sphex name because I find the wasp fascinating from a behavioural and philosophical point of view. See the explanation here. It has been used as an example of how seemingly thoughtful behaviour is not evidence of free will. It's also interesting to me as a computer programmer (and serial entrepreneur, for that matter) as a reminder to not repeat the same thing expecting different results. I first used it as an ironic nod to this, as the name of a business I set up to buy out a previous company of mine that had gone bust: i.e. I wanted to do the same thing again and expect different results It's also a cool word!

Most of the problems should be fixed now. I launched the pro version yesterday, which is $15/year for up to 1000 hives. I think that's probably reasonable.

It seem very easy to use. Will you be doing a stand alone program rather than one based on the net?

Not at the moment. Possibly in the future. The next version will probably be a native iPhone app.
