Was it the RBI Steve?
SBI has checked my hives in the summer the other side of W'ville from you as EFB in the area

I knew trading standards did these checks but didn't know bee inspectors also did this
I think my honey is solid in buckets so I'm afraid they would have to scrape a sample!!
Seasonal Bee Inspector

The bee inspectors are employed by FERA The food and environmental research agency
This check appears to be to monitor for the presence of pesticides.
Trading standards would be more interested in additives.

My springtime honey is solid in buckets too.
Once I have finished the varroa treatment and feeds I will have a go at making some soft set from the solid honey.

I was part of scheme where you took your own sample and sent it off for testing and if you were one of the lucky ones you got sent graph of pollen types found

I sent a honey sample off a few years back. But never received any results back.
I think they received a lot more samples than they were expecting that year..
