A mouse has ruined one of my supers. I was looking through my pile of last year's supers when I came across a large leafy structure running through the combs of one of the supers. This super was the bottom of the pile and, sure enough, there was a mass of chewed wax, mouse droppings and leaf litter on the table below.
Obviously I have removed the leaf-litter nest from the super but what do I need to do further to this? Is it hygenic enough to re-use this super? Do I need to change the foundation?
The mouse has only caused major damage to the wax in the central frames so I'm sure that the bees would be fine drawing it out.
Thanks,
Ben P
