Iv had some brood frames invaded by moths, the damage on one is a 3 inch patch in middle of frame
Will bees fill this void with new comb or will they just seal the edges and leave the hole as is
thanks

.
If the bees repair the hole in the first part of summer or spring, they draw drone cells. They harm hive inspections.

You may repair it yourself. Cut the hole clearly formed and glue a piece of foundation with melted wax.

perfect

There may well be wax moth eggs laid on the comb and almost certainly WM larvae and pupae under the wedge. Frames are cheap enough if seconds are bought in the sales and foundation cheap enough if your association buys it in bulk like mine does. So why bother simply replace them.
