Someone on a FB group is showing pictures of the frame of meringue in the hive as a way of feeding them protein.

He says because his bees are starving and have no pollen or nectar.

Is this a good idea?

Grandad said that you should not give to the bees/ put in a hive, anything you would not put in your mouth.

As long as it is not Lemon merangue!

I've seen this and the bees seem to be eating it.

Bees were never meant to eat egg protein.

Surely it would be more sensible to just give them some syrup if they need feeding.

Meringue is full of sugar. Figure what part they want. More effort to make meringue than syrup.

I think its a great idea. !!

I made mine an Apple Tart yesterday........ and then gave them a couple of after Dinner Mints to finish off ....... :D

what a noble idea, would custard tart work?
