Highish minimum delivery charges. Several sellers on a well known online auction site supply to ireland.

Mistral is where I get mines from....bought 25Kg and as I posted earlier, local amateur beeks can come here and get it FOC from me. The provisos on ther site are most likely to discourage a plethora of tiny orders that eat up their time.

If you do not like their charges then try A G Woodcare. Similar prices but in mainland UK.

However..........even if it were 20 quid to get 100g delivered, it still 'makes up' to 1.82 litres of syrup......enough for approx 45 colonies......so you could still do the hives for under 50p each (the real figure is nearer 3p for the treated syrup, most of that price being the sugar).

Maybe previously covered elsewhere .... But .... What is the difference between oxalic acid used as a GRP cleaner or wood bleach sold as crystals (C2H2O4) and the stuff we buy as crystals for varroa treatment (apart from price)

Hard hat on ...

None. Hence giving you the steer to A G Woodcare. Wood bleach is one of its main uses. You are in N.I. Thats where Mistral are. The amount I bought was 25Kg delivered home for under 80 quid, and that is approx 12000 hive treatments............about 0.6p for acid...and will last us about 4 years. The dry crystals will never go off.

Uniform delivery price is a bargain for 25Kg. And it would last several lifetimes. Or I could do mine and all the hives in the Greater London area for a couple of years :). Just that Mistral are obviously set up for bulk quantities. If I want 50g or 100g, and I'd probably give half of that away, there are plenty of suppliers charging a couple of quid to post it. Or I might be passing by Wynne Jones in the next couple of weeks.

good.

An Dalmatian went to a telegram office, took out a blank form and wrote, “Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof.”

The clerk examined the paper and politely told the dog: “There are only nine words here. You could send another ‘Woof’ for the same price.”

“But,” the dog replied, “that would make no sense at all.”

I bought 5 kg and it should keep me going for a couple of years. 85 stocks to treat next week when it arrives.

Younger beekeepers might ask "what is a telegram" as there hasn't been any in the UK since 1982

Shouldn't there be more dots in the message?
As it was a Dalmatian?
