is there many on here that use pollen traps, i am going to buy some for next year and was wondering how you go about drying it and storing it, how long does it store for, also how much does it sell for??

thanks , Darren

Water content in pollen is low so it will freeze OK and still remain freeflow. I collect OSR pollen using traps and freeze it in empty icecream containers. I don't sell it but make it into pollen supplement patties with yeast, soya flour and syrup and feed it the following march by putting into polybags, rolling it flat, slashing underside of bag with stanley knife and placing it cut side down on top of frames under crownboard (with a deep rim as used with fondant, apiguard etc). Results in faster build up of the colony in time for next crop of ****.
