Your buckfasts are swarmy.

Me Mr Steven..:spy: if it is me you are mentioning YES by god they are all swarmy like my old bees bees probably on par (weird normal weather) god knows, however they are a lot more gentle and the amount of honey/nectar they are bringing in has me confused as to what i am going to do with it all when they finish piling it in,i have so much honey since i changed from mongrels to productive none local stock, i don't know what to do with it in my council Estate location.

Best option for queens has already been given by Linoleum Bonaparte on page one.
They are stunning local bees, Winter well, very productive, no signs of chalk brood and are lovely, gentle bees.
Why would you go elsewhere?

Good to see you are promoting Buckfast bees at long last....or at least Buckfast F1's.

It's the same old story, just mention 'Local' or that you don't want to import - they're all over it like a bad dose of thrush and bang goes another informative thread.
Nope it's just another opinion. Some facts and figures about local bees performances would add to the debate.

I wonder if I'm alone in not being surprised by your familiarity with varying severity of thrush.
How exactly is people pointing out the falicy of the " local is best" mantra uninformative?
At the very least it's as ridiculous a hyperbole as any given here but that doesn't stop you perpetuating it.
Another anecdotal vote for satanic spawn, swarmy , unproductive local bees here and another vote for trying either exmoor bees or ged Marshalls bees. None come with a guarantee but your very unlikely to be disappointed whatever your criteria are.
Oh and regarding the "local" definition. The UK climate has no extremes. Bees from virtually anywhere manage.just fine here.

And both are Buckfast. Or at least F1's.

We have always kept native bees local to the area and since graduating from University of Cardiff (BscHons) Ceri has been actively breeding these bees. This allows us to sell a surplus of queens and nuclei each season.

We believe these bees being native are the correct bees for us to keep as they have adapted to local conditions over millennia. In our opinion making them the most suitable bees, with which to run a sustainable honey business in West Wales.

I like you but could you please explain some of them big words..:spy:

Stuart. I have had you on ignore for quite some time, it's astounding to see the difference without your unpleasantness sullying the forum.
I'd be obliged if you could return the courtesy (Look it up in the dictionary) and refrain from commenting on my posts.

quote from LB on page one...

PM Hive maker or B+.... They sell good queens

My silly mistake. B+ does carniolans.
And, as usual, Éamon, I've deleted your presumed abusive PM from my in box without reading.
You are coming acorss as a collector of obscure words for hand shandies....
May your wrist never let you down.

My silly mistake.

Indeed. Bit of a habit though.

It's basic manners to read a thread fully and carefully, so as not to misrepresent other people's statements or point of view.

Like the previous ones, it wasn't abusive. It was an explanation and link to a post which would have clarified your previous 'silly mistake'.

You may call me Éamon. It isn't my name, but what harm ?

You might gain some respect if you practiced what you preached.

No doubt having your delusions go unchallenged makes you happier. But I'll couteously not comment on your posts, when you stop posting cabbage.
Your a funny man though, ranting about your itchy crotch and finding my reference to it "unpleasantness"
There, another of your delusions corrected

Why should they - just to meet your 'criteria' not everyone wants to waste their time collecting data to satisfy you?

Simply because without standardized assessment criteria , comparisons are purely subjective and utterly meaningless.
But then a direct comparison is the last thing those touting the virtues of their local mongrels want.
