Black Bees

[For want of a better word]

Eight colonies of Cornish Amm bees this morning filling 4 Rose OSB boxes on each colony..... that is 3 Nationals if 1 OSB = Brood + 1/2... with a National Super on top... some of the calmest bees I have seen.

We have a small rooftop apiary and my Cornish Black Bees have done much better than expected.
Had the Bee Inspector this week and all reported healthy and we made a NUC.
I am running out of space now our NUC is on Langstroth rather than National.
So hopefully find someone who needs a Langstroth NUC.

Our bees have done very well both with proliferation, health and honey production. They also survived the snow in winter even though one of the hives was completely blown over.

I use a flexible Toolbag (Homebase sale £7) which can take smoker etc etc plus a Lang jumbo frame (or three)..Light and easy to clean.
