Best way to "restore" dried fondant

I have managed to get some fondant which has gone a bit crusty round the edges. Is there any way to "restore" the crusty bits or is it just a case of cutting it off and throwing it away?

When you put in on the hive the humidity should 'restore' it especially if its under a plastic sheet or similar.
