Is it this the most stupid thing you have ever seen or is it fake? Came across it on the internet but think it’s so stupid it must be a fake.
Has this Bayer abomination been referred to the Advertising Standards Agency?

Why - they're doing nothing wrong - in fact they are being very responsible if some eejit is spraying bug killer willy nilly all over the place, then fair play to them for attempting some kind of restitution by promoting the planting of pollinator friendly plants to help the survivors

Tom, it's my photo taken at B & Q in Aberystwyth last Wednesday.
I put it on London Beeks Facebook page and it's on here somewhere too.
Nice one Dani did not believe it at first think it should be in a hunting shop. It’s like selling a decoy and then the gun.
Went to a lecture by Prof Dave Goulson at Plymouth Uni last night and he used a similar photo in his presentation.
It turns out that Neonics are very persistent in the soil and as farmers are not allowed to use them until December this year, there's enough already in the soil to be effective as a systemic insecticide for up to 5 years, depending on how often Neonics have been used in the past. If, say, a farmer has used neonic-dressed seed for 5 years, then there's probably enough chemical fixed in the soil to protect crops for another 5 years or so. The moratorium therefore needs to be extended for at least 6 years to ensure that any studies to measure the impact of the ban is based on less neonics being in the environment.
The interesting thing is that the chemical companies are in a Catch 22 situation - they don't want to admit that the chemicals are persistent and they cannot challenge the excellent reported crop outcomes last year (the first of the moratorium) as being the result of neonics still being in the soil. How will they explain the improved crop output? Watch this space.

I put the question to B & Q on their Facebook page. They said it doesn't contain a banned neonic.
It contains Thiacloprid.......splitting hairs in my opinion. Somewhat insensitive to be selling a product designed to kill the very creatures you are encouraging with your packet of free --- seeds.
