Yes .. my Mum towards the end got a bit like that - she had only been in care for a few months and hated it. Pneumonia finally killed her.

My mother-in-law also. She's pretty much starving herself to death at the moment and there's little anyone can do about it

It might well be the next great adventure. I'm not frightened of dying....just the manner of it

There is a time...isn't there? My Mum did the same. She confounded the doctors by living twenty years longer than their prognosis but just got tired of the maintenance. So she stopped all her pills and faded away.
