I expect this is in a thread somewhere, but I think worth resurrecting the information:

http://www.scottishbeekeepers.org.uk/downloads/html/downloadsindex.html

Magnus Petersons class notes well worth a read, as well as constructional information on all the common types of hives.

Clearly most relevant to Scotland and it's weather. No purchase required........

Whilst searching for revision notes on the BBKA Basic assessment i came across this site and the class notes are very informative. As are the other lecture notes and the technical sheets are excellent. A very good resourceful site.

The notes by Magnus are excellent, and I did the beginners course that used those notes with the Dunblane and Stirling beekeepers last winter.

It's a great association, not just with Magnus but with some other very knowledgeable and experienced beekeepers.

If you're anywhere nearby I'd encourage you to join and come along.

Colin
