She cooks it on parchment paper to make it easy to take out when cooked. I suggested that the paper may insulate the base, and to try without, but then we'll need a pizza getter-outer slidey tool.
I don't have a problem with parchment on top of a very heavy duty aluminium baking tray. I have 2 the same so I can slide the uncooked pizza on parchment from a cold tray to a hot tray.

or othe opposite way - SWMBO has these round extremely lighweight, vented (loads of 1" holes) trays for use in a conventional oven so the heat gets straight to the base as well as the top. but for the coming summer she's treated herself to one of these outside Ninja electrickt outdoor ovens so I guess I'll be existinging on pizzas until she gets bored with it.

My god, we really do have appalling eating habits, is it a cultural thing? Or is it cheaper to eat badly?

It's cheaper to eat badly. That seems to be the trend everywhere I go.

This is a churro waffle with homemade strawberry syrup and churro whipped cream. There's also some airfried sweet potatoes and fajita seasoned pork chops.

I need to get better at taking pics.

Calzone may also be a possibility. And there's fun to be had with pizzas if you're so minded. We quite often have a crispy duck pizza with spring onions, cucumber and hoisin sauce. Or a chicken curry pizza. Just think of the pizza base as a food delivery vehicle :D

One of our local pubs does a different pizza each week. It being Burns Night last week, the pizza was haggis, parsnip crisps, fried potatoes and whisky sauce...

Isn’t a pizza stone better than steel or aluminium? I don’t know what you do with it, other than pre heat it before slapping the dough on….???
I’m no cook.

Saturday night rib eye, followed by Sunday brunch fry up. I missed Sunday's sausage dinner with mash, veggies and onion gravy but followed on with Monday and bubble and squeak with the left over veggies.

I did 6 months on the Zoe diet at the start of last year. It completely changed the way I look at food.
My supper last night was a baked sweet potato with cheese and an enormous salad of avocado, lettuce, cucumber, courgette, tomato, onion, beetroot, grated carrot, nuts and seeds.
I went on the diet because I was pre diabetic, within the 6 months I had corrected the problem.
Most of my meals are low in carbohydrates nowadays!
I had some serious stomach problems, Barrett's oesophagus and other things. Changed my diet.
Cured completely but was still ill a couple of days a month, quit the three medications prescribed and have not been ill since !

Blummin Eck. I like my chips quite well done and browned. Hard to find like that though. Our local is decent. The fish is about 3 inches thick and about a foot long. Nice firm chucks fresh from Lowestoft fishmarket. They're about 8.50 each and he sometimes throws an extra one in if he thinks it is slightly undersize! They're at least 3 x bigger than any other chipshop around here for the same price. Mr Chips in Gorleston
We always buy the large bag of chips when having fish and chips.
That's enough for four people is their response.
The secret is to freeze the remaining chips for later and put them in the oven and you get well done , browned and crispy !

We are talking 'on toast' here really ...........

bubble and squeak
Partial to bubble; if I eat in a caff I always ask if they make it and if they don't, won't order it. Those triangular pre-made hash brown things are also unpleasant. There's half a small cabbage hibernating in the fridge; may haul it out tonight.
