What's flowering as forage in your area

Primrose, Snowdrop and Crocus flowering nicely in a bit of twelve degree sunshine, anyone else notice it's no longer dark at 5 pm?
Currently trying to persuade a pair of Magpies in my Rowan to find another nest site.

Yeah lighter at night now have we gained an extra half hour of light maybe more ?
Is it 1 minute a day extra daylight or there abouts.

Alternating leaves droop down to cover the stem ...hence its name. Quite cute little yellow inflorescence, which I don't see much. This one had smaller leaves too, perhaps because it was more exposed on the shore rather than protected by taller trees.

We've had a few warm(ish) days then last night temperatures dropped a few degrees below zero again.

Warm 15C and windless today and saw bees in our garden for the first time this year - apiary 600m distant. Almost overpowering scent from our two Sarcococca. Scores of bees on both with white pollen sacs.

That is a beautiful shrub. Wonderful scent. Ours mingles with the mahonia.

Sarcococca flowering nicely in my garden too, but it’s the Winter Flowering Honeysuckle that is getting the most attention. Quite a few queen bumblebees are visiting it, no honey bees yet. Weather although warmer has been quite damp.

Hedgerows are now bouncing with Hazel catkins. !0.5 degrees when I got up at 6am
