and neither will whatever was hibernating/sheltering in all the dead leaves
We home hedgehogs here. We have three hedgehog homes which are invariably used when the hogs are introduced. They are pretty soon abandoned because there are many natural places for them. Lovely to watch them come to feed at night.
 
Clearing the wildflower area in the garden of dead leaves etc the crocus are showing through the soil.
Things never stop growing .
Yes we have crocus pushing up through our lawn, spotted daffs in flower while I was out and about!!!!
 
At a stop at Reading services yesterday I saw some blackthorn in flower
That's probably as much the warmth from the car and traffic fumes as it is climate change ... there's three bushes on the way to work that are alongside some cooling units on the outside of an industrial unit .. they are in blossom but the ones a hundred yards up the road have not even broken bud yet. It's still a bit worrying to see stuff in blossom far too early ... February is notorious for frosts and anything that has bloomed stands a good chance of getting nipped.
