Sold one a couple of years ago... will try to find pic I used on fleabuy and post it
fine metal mesh plates fitted over the comb

wood block grooves up.. metal mesh .. comb.. metal mesh.. block groves down etc etc... not hessian or cloth.

Essential if wanting to extract honey effectively if a TBH user

I'll take em. Your the other side of Frome so collection is easiest. Pm me your details and I'll arrange collection. I might try and make a press.

Thanks

The spring-loaded vibrating "press" was the sort of thing I had in mind. V clever.
They are "plates" from what was called a "77" press made by Steele & Brodie, three were used per press, made from beach or ash they fitted into a metal compression devise which pivoted on top of a wooden frame with a catch tray underneath, mainly for squeezing heather honey. The other wooden press you see around is a Peebles press much larger and floor standing, completely made of beach or ash, again made by Steele and Brodie. Both pre 1983
