A long time ago, a favourite/well used reference book was given as published (or produced) by a firm named 'The Refrigerated Steam Company'. I would love to find a copy of that book.

Of course...starvation killed them.
No I meant...why, if they were fed and being monitored, didn't they move to the food. Was the food too far from them or was there another reason?

just a few, nosema, failing or failed queen. Hard to make assumptions without looking at a frame and having the bees tested. Looking every two weeks tell you nothing only that a colony is getting smaller or bigger.

Yesterday 3 out of 7 colonies were all flying. 9 degrees, overcast and windy. One was in a poly hive, another a small colony in a wbc, and the other was in a wooden national. This last one was very busy, was quite an aggressive colony last year and was down for requeening this spring. I will see how they behave on first inspection before final decision.

Its a forum for discussion and like other forums not everyone is going to agree with each other its human nature, i may have a style of typing that offends people but believe me that is not my intention, as the saying goes, what will Bee will Bee.
