Griffith's just for your info next time you see a Woodwasp don't kill it because they are harmless, the large probe is an egg laying probe and not a sting. Gently trap it and place outside.
As with many people just another typical over reaction assuming al things large sting.
The Woodwasp colouring are just mimicking markings to fend off and warn predetors.
