take me longer to walk there than to get in...
Stick some more plants in to disguise the hives and paint them shades of green.

Yup I know it wouldn't take long to get in but the noise they would make would but them off as the bedroom windows are not too far away. And it is better than nothing at all. I know what you mean though. I have planted some beans to climb up the wire. I'll plant something more permanent next year. Any suggestions? Bee friendly of course

Pyracanthus or blackthorn?

:iagree:
It would seem pointless in putting a lock on that enclosure, if anyone decided they were going to pinch a hive or two then a bit of mesh, or a fencepost or two for that matter, won't stop them.

Don't leave any straps on the hives - they'll be safe from being knocked over by wildlife in there. No straps means the hives would have to be prepared for moving - that takes time and preparation.

You'd get better security if you could prevent vehicle access to the field as far back to the road as possible - thieves will be deterred from having to carry hives a long distance over a field.
