Another bright and sunny day again here in Ormidheia, Cyprus. 23C at the moment and have just stoked up the BBQ again ready to cook the lamb and pork belly to go with the dolmades and round it all off with cheese cake.
:welcome:

One of these days I might get a posting to Cyprus...........
When I do someone is in for a good kicking !! :D

Wet cold and windy here - had to curtail the day's shooting as we were likely to get a sound soaking for no reward in short order (now means i have to go to the Munsters (sorry, in-laws) for Boxing day lunch

i have to go to the Munsters

at least you can escape if needed, I have the Munster coming to me
Time for a few I think ..........dam it i'm on standby eeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hooray the sun is out :sunning: hold on no it`s raining again, well it was good while it lasted :unionsmilie:

Yes.

Although we have been having a bit of fun recently with reports from Cyprus, we do prefer LOW temperatures in December and January. This helps the queens have a rest and the colonies take-off when the weather improves in late February, as long as they have enough food the progress is conservative in early February but becomes explosive end of February and in March.

Cold Weather on its way ?

A friend had said they had heard from a relative, (a commercial pilot), that checking the long range forecast had shown that we are in for bad weather around the end of January...-20 and snow etc..... :sos:

Jet Stream

Check this out, Jetstream still in wrong place, run the prediction to see where its going to go. Frightening.
On the other hand my Rhubarb is already shooting, I must cover to protect from frost and snow.
Carried out Oxalic acid dribble today on 12 of my hives. Bees look pretty strong only one hive had only 4 seams, the rest had up to 7 seams. No losses....Yet.
Bob.
ps Two stings, but they were pleased to see me. (I think).

My rhubarb, globe artichokes and comfrey are all making their way up. I'd covered the GA up too but that just seems to have given them the extra incentive.

Looks like there'll be more of the same - warmish, windy and wet. At least we aren't getting a couple of feet of snow.

My rhubarb, globe artichokes and comfrey

alldigging

I've got all three and no sign of new growth on any down here in the softy South... which I'm happy with as new growth would be killed by the frosts we usually get in mid-January....but that probably won't happen any more because I pay for plastic carrier bags in m&s.

I'm worried about the frost too - it's about 3'C outside at the moment - just been moving some muck but really need to cover these globe artichokes up - am out of fleece now I think though so will have to improvise.

Upturned flowerpot would do as a temporary measure?
