Now I remember why I left the UK to live in Cyprus. Medium range forecast for February and March is for slightly higher than normal temperatures and about 50% of normal rainfall.

I remember winter Jan 63 very well! Stationed at RAF Locking at the time (Weston Super Mare) Just made it back to camp from S Wales after Xmas leave. One of the very few who did from all over UK. Stuck on camp with nothing to do, no transport to WSM. A few of us walked to WSM. for a couple of glasses of pop, A terrible cold walk back to camp and a roasting from the SWO (station warrant officer). And there was no beer to be found! Happy Memories!

I also , daughter born on 6th of January ,no water for 6 weeks . Local authority palmed me off to the local water board who in turn parried the shot straight back to the local authority , the rally went on until I told both parties I was about to dig down to the water main and thaw it myself!
NO NO you could cause a burst . Oh! yes well then you'll probably come should I .
I dug down , found the main, took some fire from the grate ,into the bucket which I plonked down on the pipe , after half an hour or so water appeared from the tap . I felt like Moses

Your lucky, you had a bathroom, we had a tin bath in front of the rayburn in the kitchen, toilet was a wooden one seated shed, half way across the field.
