10°C and calm here yesterday and the bees were out foraging on a False Castor Oil Plant (Fatsia japonica) 80 metres down the road.

Much colder today, 8°C and windy. No bees out and about.

Bright sun, but cold.
Looks like snow on the top of Dartmoor in the distance as the sun rose into the clear blue sky this morning.
No bees, no leaves. November.

Happy St Andrew's day to all you sachenacchs and highlanders!

Snow.... thank the Lord for 4WD!

Snow here.. no need for 4wd..

If it is heavy snow, the (hilly ) roads round here grind to a halt as drivers polish the surface into an icy skiway which is impassable to 2wd or 4wd unless they have studded tyres...

If there is heavy snow here they simply don't go anywhere on the hilly roads, up to 1,700' (518m) ASL and no salting/gritting done at all.

That is so true, i got stuck on a moor road in the Yorkshire dales two years ago and i was in a 4x4, the only way to get out was by getting dragged out by a farmers JCB digger.

My only go anywhere anytime vehicle was a 500cc single G80CS Matchless with an ex Sammy Miller trials sidecar attached... running on Dunlop "trialsmaster" tyres..... ( not forgetting the Haflinger !)

Hope it is not needed this Winter!!

-4oC early this morning, mercury has just risen above freezing at lunchtime.
Bees are out and about and bringing in nectar....not!
Same again for tomorrow with temperatures unlikely to rise above freezing and snow forecast.
