"Tomorrow I will mostly be Hivemaking"

despite the gerunding of the verb you might like to edit that last word - the capitalisation could be construed as capitalising (no pun intended!) upon the reputation of others on the forum!!!!! Keep the capitals for proper nouns.

I will, and so thank you, purely jovially of course.

you're welcome. trying to not be a pedant - you may well spot my own preferred usage of "stang off of" in posts. just best not to tread on toes of other members - might lead to thymol spillages!!!!

BTW still on lookout for a thread about transferring colonies from cedar hives to new MB nationals - i believe the term "Poly Hiving" might be used erroneously in that situation!!!!!

BTW2 - are you sure you shouldn't have a Grocer's apostrophe decorating your user name?

Maybe, but wih around only 8% of the common base and poular left using them I thought nobody would notice.

Ahhh not easy being a pedant unless you have years and years of practice, something best left to the experts with a lifetime of experience behind them.

Actually doctor, I think you'll find that that's a greengrocers apostrophe.

Pedantry rules quite satisfactorily.

are you completely sure it isn't greengrocers'? (more than one greengrocer!)

As in Beekeepers' Association (unless you're the Bayer subsidiary that's dropped the apostrophe altogether.....)

sorry skyhook - either plain or verdant variants are acceptable!!!

from that fount of all truth, wikipedia:

"Apostrophes used in a non-standard manner to form noun plurals are known as greengrocers' apostrophes, grocers' apostrophes or sometimes humorously greengrocers apostrophe's"

Who'd of thought that a simple avatar could cause such a stirr ehh, someone mentioned rules, did tha na it's those that makes them rules that are immune to suit, who can say and do just about what they likes.

Anyone fancy actually discussing the programme?

Biggest surprise to me was that organic honey has to come from a hive that stands in a min 5km radius circle of organic crops. Do such places exist in UK? That's 80 sq km of organic crops! Presumably has to include nothing but organic gardeners, park keepers...

be such that,within a radius of 3 km from the apiary site,nectar and pollen sources consist essentially of organically produced crops and/or spontaneous vegetation,according to the requirements of Article 6 and Annex I of this Regulation,and crops not subject to the provisions of this Regulation but treated with low environmental impact methods such as,for example, those described in programs developed under Regulation (EEC)No 2078/92 which cannot significantly affect the qualification of beekeeping production as being organic;

Thanks for clearing that up Chris

The link has a nice one for the pedants though...

>>8.4.The use of combs, which contain broods, is prohibited for honey extraction.
