sorry - are you objecting to me objecting to people being unpleasant?
No I just thought the moaning and hand wringing took away from criticism of in my opinion!! a very poor article. If there’s anything worthwhile or correct in the articles pls come and tell us so it can be discussed. Let’s face it if the original writer did not want to put the info/article out there for discussion/dissection why the need for press articles.

On reflection, what is interesting about this thread is the fact that's Mr Salbury seems to have completely wiped out his internet presence since the Blenheim bees have been discussed here. Surely a few rather cranky, and some say obnoxious, beekeepers on this forum have not prompted this? Has there been criticism elsewhere? Or has he seen the error of the article and wants to disassociate himself from it?

There are lots if artickes during last half year

A new article about Blenheim miracle bees in 25. November. They continues the same style of information. They even mentioned about DNA research.

Rare wild bees finding...

Or was the previous internet presence inconvenient for the image he wants to portray.

Hang on like he's hanging on to that rope?

Ironically I think there’s a lot more internet cleaning to be done. Whilst the November article claims they have found these small dark fluffy bees I can’t really find any pics of them. In fact most of the articles I’ve found have pictures or film of rather mongrel type bees, some even resemble bog standard buckfast types. Look close up on the bee exiting this hole.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yq5EkOvu5gU. Or the various pics of bees being handled, in my experience there looking pretty average to me!!

The article itself is pretty vague and there was one part of it which I feel is especially under-researched for the tone of 'absoluteness' that it put forward (re. competition between honey bees in general and other bee species).

If I were to suggest something that someone else had better experience of I'd hope to be simply given the educated response, but this thread has shown that I'd be just as likely to be hauled over the coals for my ignorance. It's not encouraging.
Sorry much of the reference to wild bees in these articles is referring to “wild”mellifera types a specialist eco type evidently.

Many people come here and discuss experiences, few start with a press release😂 This is not a case of any coming to discuss experiences or ask questions in any regards what so ever.!! This is a response to various press articles! that make some very INTERESTING claims as fact😇 Suggesting any previous posts are akin to belittling a beginner is rather mischievous.

I didn't see anyone putting forward any actual information.

Why would any 'researcher' publish a theory with a lack of evidence to support this. Seems to be plenty of potential issues with the theory that need to be disproved by the authors, not the rest of the beekeeping world, if it is to gain any mainstream acceptance

Let's see:
Man publishes claims in papers.
Same man says six months (or so) he is going to get DNA tested.
Fast forward: man makes same claims. No DNA results published.

Only the credulous or naive would think the above is reasonable behaviour if he has unique bees.
But the wordly wise might suggest it is exactly the behaviour of a charlatan

Google "
The downfall of Elizabeth Holmes" for another classic scam

The general tone has certainly put me off even relating experiences, let alone suggesting ideas for reasons or management. If I were to suggest something that someone else had better experience of I'd hope to be simply given the educated response, but this thread has shown that I'd be just as likely to be hauled over the coals for my ignorance. Then you have misunderstood this thread. Suggesting that you have something unique this way without any substantiation is going to elicit just what you have read.

It would be a shame if your opinion of the rest of the forum was coloured by the responses in these pages.
Curly has a thread ( one of gazillions he has started)
HERE
Have a look. It promises to be very interesting

I'm not for a moment suggesting I have anything unique to share - pretty much the opposite actually. I doubt that any of us really have something really unique to share. I'm pretty confident that someone, somewhere will have experienced whatever it is I may wish to discuss and that's the point of joining these forums for me.
