Thought it probably deserved it's own thread after I hijacked the other one.

Progress so far...

Only had it on for a couple of hours so far but it got up to 42c no problem and it was still rising...

Fans are doing a great job of moving the air around.

Will install a small cooling unit to provide cooling if I need it for set honey.

Quite happy with how it has turned out.

Hold 27 supers

Going to paint/clad it and add handles etc?

Thanks for sharing this, very nice bee shed as well. There will be a lot of jealous beeks now.
My pleasure.

Need to get some supers filled now!

Very nice.

Built something similar myself, think it lasted two years before I ended up converting half of the shed it was in into warming room! :)

What are your supers going to sit in to combat the drips?

Looking good, would you add runners to slide the buckets in and out?
Should be ok.

I can get in and out to stack them up at the moment.

Maybe need a platform to straddle across.

Hmm.

Lets hope its sufficient for my needs.

I definitely dont have space for a warming room :(

In terms of drips, how bad does it get?

There is nothing electrical underneath the supers and the heating tubes have baffles over them.

I have a lino offcut on the floor but maybe I need to run some trays to catch the drips.

Advice welcome as always.

Me thinks you are too far ahead of your thinking and goals..if you are asking advice at this point..
You are clearly not up to speed with the lean principle of iterative improvement

Great job
May I suggest a roller frame on your floor so you can pull out the supers rather than walking down trough it

Millet, you're wasted as a steel monkey if everything you design never needs adjusting or improvement ;)

I used reinforced drawer sliders and they worked well. Obviously you've got to account for the potential weight they're carrying.
After one messy incident I started using square gravel trays with the supers Sat on 2x3 to allow air flow.

Great job

I like the idea.

I'll see if I can find something suitable. Will need to a hefty set of rollers as each stack could way upwards of 250lb

maybe a "tray on wheels" that can support a stack of supers
This might work. I'll see if there anything suitable available.

cheers
